(Helen)- For the second time this century, Helen is now in the 100-inch rainfall club!
WRWH Weather Reporter Bill Kinsland advised as of 7 AM Friday morning, Helen reported 1.84 inches of rain for the past 24 hours … Bill says that brings the 2018 rainfall total at Helen to 100.54 inches!
Bill said, the current 100.54 inches beats previous record year to date total of 96.36 inches, this date in 2013. 2013 was the wettest year ever in Helen and White County, with a total of 101.42 inches.
As for White County Bill advised on Tuesday that the county on average need to pick up 4.14 inches of rain before the end of the year to tie or break that 2013 record rainfall.
