(CLARKESVILLE) — Habersham Electric Membership Corp. is looking for a new leader.

According to a statement issued Wednesday afternoon,  “The Board of Directors of Habersham EMC announces that Bradley Hicks is no longer serving as CEO of the co-op effective Sept. 11, 2019.”  “HEMC Board of Directors and its dedicated employees assure its members that services provided by the co-op will continue without interruption.”

The statement reads. “The board will immediately begin the search process to employ a CEO for the co-op.”

It is not immediately clear under what circumstances Hicks left the electrical co-op.

Hicks was named chief executive officer in September 2017 following a national search process and began work Oct. 2 of that year. Prior to joining HEMC, Hicks had more than 20 years of leadership experience, including serving in various roles at electrical cooperatives in Texas and South Carolina.

HEMC spokeswoman Nicole Dover said details of personnel matters cannot be disclosed.
