Fred Masters, age 70, of Lula, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, following an extended illness.

Mr. Masters was born April 8, 1946, in Habersham County, Georgia, to the late Fred Marion Masters, Sr. and Odean McClure Masters.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Christine Masters and brother, Roy Lee Masters.  Mr. Masters was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church.  He was a United States Army Veteran having proudly served his country, being stationed in Germany.  Mr. Masters retired from Synthetic, formerly Chicopee after 40 years of loyal and dedicated service.  After retirement, he worked part-time as a security guard and also at Ingles.

Mr. Masters is survived by his wife, Brenda Masters, Lula, GA; daughter, Michelle (Bryan) Nelms, Cleveland, GA; son, Eddie (Rhonda) Everette, Lula, GA; sister, Beverly (Wesley) Stevens, Gainesville, GA; brother, Randy Masters, Alto, GA; grandchildren, Alan Armour, Emilie Lee, Hope Nelms, Megan Nelms, Austin Nelms, Chris Garbutt (Wife Amber), Kayla Garbutt; great-grandchild, R. J. Flanagan; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Rev. Danny Hart, Rev. Anthony Cook and Rev. Kyle Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the funeral Home.
