Mrs. Evelyn McClure Wilson, age 81, of Dahlonega, passed away Friday, March 20, 2020.

Mrs. Wilson was born in Banks County on January 12, 1939, to the late Otis McClain and Lillie Parr McClure.  She was also preceded in death by her first husband Johnny Wilson; son Charles Wilson; brothers Donald McClure, Doyle McClure, and Cecil McClure; and sister Judy Martin.  Mrs. Wilson was a member of Wahoo Baptist Church.  She taught the primary Sunday School class for many years.  Mrs. Wilson loved children and she cared for many of them in her community.  She loved to travel, read and draw.  Mrs. Wilson’s favorite pastime was yard-selling, thrift store shopping and fishing.  She loved her children and grandchildren and to them, she was known as “Granny”.

Survivors include her husband Monroe Garrett, Dahlonega; children Angie and Terry Cash, and Keith and Shelley Wilson, all of Dahlonega; step-children Carol and Ric Parks, Gainesville; grandchildren Kristin and Randy Fuller, Dylan and Laura Cash, Eli and Jessie Cash, Caiden Cash, Anna Kate Wilson, Tyler Wilson, Matt and Pearl Parks and Larry and Jennifer Page; great-grandchildren Millee Cash, Carder Perry, Cohen Fuller, Waylon Cash, Sawyer Cash, Gabe Page, Garrett Page, Griffin Page, Zion Parks, and Indie Parks; sisters and brothers-in-law Carolyn and Jerry Standridge, Gillsville, and Jimmie Lou and Talmadge Hulsey, Murrayville; sisters-in-law Jeanette McClure Bryant, Gillsville, and Laverne McClure, Lula; and several nieces nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Sunday, March 22, 2020, at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home.  The Rev. Stephen Gerrells and the Rev. Les Fuller will officiate.  Interment will follow in Wahoo Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lance Fuller officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
