(Cleveland)- It’s been almost a month since the tragic accident in Cleveland that took the life of 3-year old Easton Cain, in the Ingles parking lot. It’s been a time of hurting and healing for the Cain family. Now the family has released a special message to White County Residents.
An email from Ricky and Stephanie Abernathy and the Cain Family contains the following:
Dear White County,
Words cannot express our appreciation and thanks to you for your kindness shown to our family during the recent tragic and senseless death of our precious Easton.
We are grateful to live in a community that gathers around those in need, and to have friends and family that love one another.
We will hold Easton forever in our hearts and long for the day to see him again! Please continue to pray for our family.
It’s past time, but never too late for Cleveland law enforcement to finally do the right thing. For Easton, his family and the community. It doesn’t matter who you are, if you break the law there are consequences. Had that been done Long ago, this family may not be in the tremendous pain it is now having to learn to live with.
Please remember there is a time and place for this type of comment. The family of this beautiful baby is showing appreciation to our community for continued love and support.
That being said, I feel obligated to defend our city and county law enforcement officers. This man has been arrested numerous times however, not prosecuted for various reasons. Your anger, while justified, is deeply misguided. It is the district attorney and judicial officers that need to be reviewed.
Mt Yonah Baptist Church continues to pray for Easton Cain’s family, friends and neighbors. We love you and support you!
Such a tragedy! Though I do not know your family I was heart broke to hear of little Easton. Death is so cruel. Part of our ministry as Jehovah’s Witnesses is to offer comfort and hope. Even though many of us may believe differently we all need hope. Josh 21:45 assures us Jehovah’s promises come true. John 5:28 and Act 24:15 tell us there will be a resurrection. So when will this happen? This is the encouraging part. Though we do not know the day or hour, Mat 24 and other scriptures let us know it could be very soon. Please look deeper at our online Bible study program. JW.ORG.
There is no obligation and our work is free. I certainly hope you can obtain some peace from the Bible’s future promises in the not-to-distant-future.
Sincerely,
Cheryl
