(Cleveland)- The driver of a tractor-trailer received minor injuries Friday afternoon when the rig he was operating ran off the road and rolled down an embankment on Highway 115 West in Cleveland.
Cleveland Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt said the trailer was empty.
The accident happened around 4:30 PM and the driver refused transport to the hospital, according to Pruitt.
Cleveland Police is investigating the accident and further details are not available.
There have been SEVERAL wrecks in this same location. I don’t know why there are no guard rails here. The state needs to put some up.
If there had been guard rails this time they could have been bad injuries as he was unable to avoid a stopped car.
My first thought when I saw where the accident was, was that the truck probably was unable to stop in time for a car that had stopped to turn left off the interstate. That is a very dangerous spot. We come up on stopped cars turning there all the time. I’m always nervous that someone will come up behind me while I’m waiting for a car to turn and not be able to stop in time.
