Tesnatee Gap Valley Road / Highway 115 intersection to temporary close

(Cleveland)- Georgia Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that big road changes will begin Monday, July 6th for traffic on Tesnatee Gap Valley Road west of Cleveland at its intersection with State Route 115.

Tesnatee Gap Valley Road will be closed to traffic at that intersection, for the grade of the intersection to be raised about 8 feet. The maximum time for the closure is 15 days, the intersection should reopen by July 21st.

Harold Mull, Georgia DOT District Construction Engineer said, “With such a significant grade change, traffic cannot continue to use the roadway as the work occurs. The signed detour route is 3.6 miles long and will direct traffic up SR 115 to Wilford Ash Senior Parkway then to State Route 11/US 129 to the northern end of Tesnatee Gap Valley Road. Also residents can use other county and city roads to get around the intersection.

This work is part of the contract to build Phase One the Cleveland Bypass and was awarded to Sunbelt Structures, Inc. of Tucker.
