ALL Georgia Public Schools

Gov Brian Kemp has ordered ALL Georgia Public Schools classrooms closed, however online learning is still in effect until summer break.

 North Ga Technical College

North Georgia Technical College announces that exclusive online instruction will be extended until the end of Spring Semester 2020 and that the college’s originally scheduled graduation will be postponed to a later date to be determined.

Babyland General Hospital

Babyland in Cleveland has canceled this year’s Easter Eggstravaganza April 4th.

The cancellation will also apply to their annual Breakfast with the Easter Bunny.

Babyland is closed, as well as all activities scheduled at the facility until further notice

White County Libraries Closed Until Further Notice.  The staff is on-site and can be reached by phone (706-865-5572) if needed.

The BOOK DROP IS CLOSED, and All overdue fines will be waived until we return to the library so they do not need to try and return them.
DO NOT return the books to the library and leave at our door. Patrons who leave books outside will be billed for any damages. We are trying not to introduce any books back into our collection as the books currently in the building are being cleaned.
White County Recreational Center

Closed as of Monday, March 16th until further notice.

Opening day for baseball  at the White County Recreation Department that was scheduled for March 28th has been officially canceled

White County Senior Center Closed as of Monday, March 16th until further notice. Home delivered meals will continue as scheduled. 
Northeast Georgia Health System

 To protect patients and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community, Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is limiting visitation to patients at all Northeast Georgia Medical Center campuses– as well as Laurelwood and New Horizons Limestone and Lanier Park.

            Visitation limitations and restrictions vary from unit to unit based on the needs of the patients in those areas:

  • Emergency department, inpatient rooms, and labor and delivery will be limited to one visitor per room and the visitor must be at least 12 years old.
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) are restricted to only the baby’s mother and the other NICU wristband holder.
  • No visitors will be allowed into the intensive care unit (ICU), except for end-of-life-care.
  • New Horizons Limestone and Lanier Park have restricted visitation.

Certain exceptions may be made to these policies on a case-by-case basis. Additionally, visitors who are feeling sick at all are kindly asked to stay home and seek medical attention.

Adams Foods IGA  Adams Foods IGA will open 7-9AM each day for seniors or at risk customers to shop.   General public is asked to shop after 9AM

Enotah Judicial Circuit

Declaration halts most court activities and relieves jurors from showing up for 30 days.  No civil or nonessential matters shall be heard by the court during this 30 day period unless they can be conducted by video teleconferencing. More info can be found HERE

 White County Government Offices

As a precaution and to limit exposure from person to person contact, White County Government is restricting access to county facilities. White County will continue to provide services via phone, email, internet and regular mail. Employees will be available by these methods on a daily basis during normal business hours. 

US Forest Service

US  Forest Service Closes Camping & Recreation Sites   http://www.wrwh.com/u-s-forest-service-closes-camping-and-recreation-sites-indefinitely/ 

U.S. Forest Service has closed recreation trails and areas that includes Raven Cliffs, Duke Creek Fall, Mt. Yonah, and Anna Ruby Falls.  Those areas should be close by the end of the day Thursday. 

USFS – developed campgrounds are closed – Low Gap, Andrews Cove and Upper Chatt are closed.

USFS law enforcement along with state and local law enforcement will be proving extra patrolling to ensure these areas remain off-limits to the general public. 

DNR – state campgrounds are not closing at this time.  Visitor Centers, and playgrounds are closed, and they are extra patrolling for social distancing.

Income Tax Deadline 

You will have more time to file your income taxes this year.  The deadline has been extended to July 15th for Federal and Georgia taxes.

White County Planning Commission public hearing and meeting March 30th and April 6th have been canceled.

American Legion Bingo games canceled 

St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church  

St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Cleveland has canceled their monthly interviews for people seeking financial assistance with paying utilities, propane, food and prescription cost.  The cancellation of the interviews is until further notice. 

White County Rotary  The White County Rotary Club has canceled this week’s meeting.

Food distribution normally held first Saturday of each month has been cancelled for April 4th

White County Special Olympics White County Special Olympics scheduled for April 17th has been canceled. No area 2 games will be held.

Caring & Sharing 

White County Caring and Sharing will take applications for rent and utilities assistance on Monday, March 30, from 10 to 11:30 AM at Cleveland First Baptist Church. To protect both our volunteers and the clients who apply during this pandemic, we will have a table set up outside the building under the porch with an application packet (application, landlord form for rent requests and a list of area contacts) and ink pens. Clients will complete the applications in their cars and return the applications to a basket on the table for completed applications. The applications will be picked up and reviewed and clients will be called for followup.

St John’s Baptist Church on Hood Street announces that the services have been canceled until further notice.

Cleveland Worship Center

The GriefShare Support Group at Cleveland Worship Center has been postponed/ cancelled until further notice due to the Coronavirus precautions.

White County Food Pantry

White County Food Pantry will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays  10AM- 12 Noon for the next few weeks in order to serve those in need of food.

White County Historical Society April 2nd regular meeting has been cancelled.

Cleveland First Baptist Church

During this period of time, you may follow Cleveland First Baptist’s church services online if you have Facebook by going to the church’s website firstcleveland.com, go to Media, scroll down to Facebook Live and click on it. Sermons will appear for you to view. You may also find the sermons on You Tube if you don’t have Facebook.

Cleveland First Baptist Church Concert

The scheduled Relay For Life  Dessert Concert on April 4 will be rescheduled this Summer.

Supervisors of the Upper Chattahoochee River Soil and Water Conservation District

The supervisors of the Upper Chattahoochee River Soil and Water Conservation District have decided to cancel the meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 9th at 6:30 p.m. The board wishes to follow the State of Georgia procedures in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The May meeting is to be determined.

White County Family Connection Collaborative meeting will be held by teleconference on April 17th at 11:00 a.m

    Also please add info about local grocery stores, businesses, and restaurants to this list.
