Vehicle damaged by fire at Skylake

(Cleveland)- A commercial dryer fire and an auto fire kept White County fire fighters busy Wednesday.   Ana Newberry, White County Public Safety spokeswoman said, at 7 AM Wednesday morning, White County Fire with Automatic Aid from the City of Cleveland responded to a reported fire at Freudenberg NOK .

Upon arrival, fire units were escorted to the dryer room where a  unit had ignited.  Newberry said, the fire was quickly extinguished by fire personnel; damage was contained to the affected dryer unit.

No damage to the building, no injuries, and the suspected cause is equipment malfunction.

According to Newberry around 9:30 AM, a  Skylake resident was returning home when her vehicle experienced a mechanical failure.  The vehicle had stopped running and the driver was able to steer the vehicle to the pool area in Sky Lake.

Once the driver and young occupant exited the vehicle, the engine compartment became fully involved with flames.

Firefighters from Station 3 and City of Helen extinguished the fire using fire extinguishers.
