AUGUSTA, Ga. – After hitting a homer in each of the three games against Palm Beach Atlantic this weekend, University of North Georgia sophomore Nick Clarno was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
Clarno hit .455 against Palm Beach Atlantic over the weekend. The third baseman had a 1.364 slugging percentage and drove in six runs as the Nighthawks ran their record to 6-0. He opened with a solo shot in game one in his only hit of the game, then went 2-for-4 in games two and three, adding a double in the finale. He scored four runs and struck out only once in 11 at-bats. He was also perfect in the field with no errors in nine chances with one double play turned.
Clarno leads the PBC in slugging percentage, is tied for second in home runs and is seventh in total bases. This is his first weekly honor of his career.
