(Cleveland)- With Christmas past us it’s time think about properly disposing of those real Christmas trees.  For the 11th straight year, the cities of Cleveland, Helen and White county is offering drop off sites to recycle those trees. Beginning today residents will be able to recycle at four convenient drop-off locations.

Harry Barton, White County Solid Waste Director, said the four locations are: in Cleveland, the parking lot behind City Hall Annex at South Main Street and Henderson Street; in the city of Helen, the parking lot at the intersection of Edelwiess and Chattahoochee;  White County Convenience Center 519 Hulsey road and the White County Transfer Station south of Cleveland.

Barton said, “We are happy to have the cities of Cleveland and Helen once again join our efforts to recycle Christmas Trees, by providing four sites across the county we try to make it convenient to recycle the trees.”

The recycling is free, the only restrictions are that all decorations must be removed from the tree and no artificial trees will be accepted.

Any organization that would like to pick up the recycled trees are encouraged to do so by contacting Barton at 706-865-6768.
