(Cleveland )- White County Chief Magistrate Joy Parks is once again in the running for a superior court judgeship. Parks, who has served as Chief Magistrate for several years is one of two people who have been nominated for a superior court judgeship in the Enotah Judicial Circuit.
The Judicial Nominating Commission has submitted recommendations to fill several judgeship vacancies in the state.
Judge Parks and Michelle Vaughan – sole practitioner with Michelle Vaughan, PC of Blairsville are in the running in the Enotah Circuit.
The person selected will replace Superior Court Judge Murphy Miller, son of the late Gov. Zell Miller, who resigned effective July first. Miller has served in the Superior Court position since 2007.
Governor Nathan Deal will decide who will fill the vacancy from the nominees.
