Fire Destroys Logan’s Ridge Road Home

(Cleveland)- An early morning fire in White County has destroyed  a vacant house.  The call  was dispatched at  4:49  Saturday morning.  The house at 136 Logan’s Ridge Road, north of Cleveland, was fully involved according to 9-1-1 dispatch.  White County Public Safety Director David Murphy said, the house was vacant, because the owner was downsizing.  “ No reason to expect …

White County Unemployment Rate 7.3 Percent

(Atlanta)- New unemployment figures released Thursday  by the Georgia Department of Labor puts White County’s Unemployment rate for August at  7.3 percent.  That is down one tenth of one percent from the revised 7.4 percent rate in July.  The labor department said in August White County’s labor force was 13,549, of those 12,565 were employed and  984 were unemployed.
