(Cleveland)- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation will be performing an autopsy on the body of a missing Canton woman,  Belinda Butterfield after her body was discovered Wednesday in the Chestatee River.

Lt. Alan Roach with the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office said a concerned citizen heard reports of 34-year old Butterfield, going missing Monday morning while floating on the Tesnatee Creek in White County. He said the citizen decided to use his expertise of the rivers in the area to help with the search.

The Lumpkin County Fire Department’s Swift Water Rescue team was called in to recover the partially submerged body. They were assisted by White County Sheriff’s deputies and personnel from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

Family members of Butterfield were able to confirm that the remains were those of Butterfield.
