Mrs. Aldona “Chris” Edwards, age 92, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Lumpkin County on April 19, 1927, to the late Floyd and Maude Rider Patterson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Homer Ray Edwards; son Danny Edwards; brothers Howard Patterson, Rufus Patterson, Homer Patterson and Ralph Patterson; and sisters Leonia Rider, Corine Roberts and Sue Mollahan. From rock collecting to gardening, Mrs. Edwards loved the outdoors. She was a loving mother and known as “Grandma” to her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter Barbara Black, Murrayville; special nieces Nancy, Barbara, Bev and Sandy; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service is scheduled for Mrs. Edwards at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
