(CLEVELAND) – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2019 spring Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes and 12 Truett McConnell University individuals were recognized. Altogether, 27 TMU athletes received this award for the 2018-19 academic year.

The women’s golf team had the most represented; Teagan HendrixHannah JordanTeagan Lovingood and Alexandria Green. Senior David Ford, of the men’s golf team, also received the award. Three juniors from the baseball team were awarded, Evan BenschJosh Johnston and Shane Smith, and two softball players earned the honor; Brie Levy and Sara Sullivan.

Two Lady Bears for the women’s track & field team rounded out TMU’s awards; Ivie Nobles and Margaret Wiedeman.

In order to be named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, each student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.
